This is from the south-east of Norway and the pit is related to the lake you see in the background. The marshes is growing together, forming new 'land' to walk on. The water still flow below. That's how the trout got there. I used a Guideline TriCast 8'6" 3wt rod. The fly I used was made 3 days before, during some problems finding out what the trouts were eating so aggressively during hot summe...

I have done this very thing in Sierra meadow streams. No one thinks trout could be caught in such a place. Let’s keep it that way😅

Trout from a swamp! I thought it was a pike.
Obviously, a fish that needs fresh, oxygenated water like trout do, couldn't live in such a tiny individual pond. This seems to be akin to a quaking bog, with tightly-knitted vegetation actually floating on the larger body of water (could be a spring-fed lake). The fishing holes are merely small open spaces in the vegetation.

WOW, apparently 22k people think its inhumane to kill a fish like that. Let me tell you this, its as fast as if you were to be shot in the middle of the head. It takes about 1-3 hard hits to kill a fish, but we hit it extra so that it doesnt feel pain. 10/10 fishing right here.
